Many women I know put a lot of exercise time into cardio.  I know I do!  When I was younger and worked out frequently, I spent most of my time doing cardio.  Sometimes I’d do weight machines but mostly cardio.  Ms T. has introduced me to weights.  I don’t mean to brag but I have worked hard so I’m gonna say it – I have muscle definition.  I love it!!  My arms, shoulders and back etc. never showed muscle definition like they do now.  Don’t shy away from weights, you won’t bulk up.  Well, as long as you aren’t bench pressing and squating so much that you HAVE to have a spot.    Losing the amount of weight that I have and being able to tone definitely required both.  Oh I certainly have area’s that I am still working on believe me but I do like to see the hard work pay off.

I have a reason for telling you all this – it is because my gym buddy and I have become rather addicted to the treadmill.  Oh we do weights too but every day our cardio is on the treadmill.  Now we shake up what we do, walking on incline, jogging, sprint – mix it up.  BUT the treadmill.  Oh, and we prefer using “our” treadmills too.  Ms. T and I were talking Wed. and she told me that my buddy and I should mix up the cardio.  We really need to use the other cardio equipment.  My buddy and I can get on that treadmill and knock out a couple of miles no biggie.  Jogging and sprinting – we get our music on and we go.  Her choices in music are poor but I let it slide.  So today we do the elliptical.  All the treadmills were taken so a good time to start shaking it up.  WE WERE DYING!!!  Amazing to see the difference.  Ms. T was right – she always is but I NEVER tell her.  So I am passing this on to you.  Don’t stick to the same cardio especially if you are trying to burn fat.  My buddy and I, our cardio is good.  We can run 3 miles like it’s no biggie BUT the elliptical – it sucked!
